The Thelma Berry Nursery School is housed in what was once the St. David's Primary School. It was opened in September 2011. For the first part of the term, classes were conducted in the St. David's Anglican Church and also in the Church Hall. This was done to accommodate the pupils entering the school in September and to allow for the completion of refurbishment.

The school is situated in St. David's, Christ Church. The building is a wall structure which is over approximately 100 years old. The school is a quarried stone building comprising one office, one staffroom, one classroom and two storage areas on one block. Four classes, school meals/nutrition room, ancillary quarters and learning centres are located in the second block. There is a park which contains swings, a see-saw, picnic tables, a play house and a swing and slide set.

This school is named after Mrs. Thelma Berry, a very remarkable lady who not only served as janitor but as caretaker, extending her services of caring for the school to caring for the children. Reports indicate that she provided lunch for those who did not have.

She initiated an informal "After School Care Service", and took responsibility for those students who waited for hours on their parents. If any one of the students had a bathroom accident, she would wash them. She provided this service of love and selflessness for 21 years.

Mrs. Berry died on April 26,2009 and was buried at the St. David's Anglican Church.

After giving many years of dedicated service to the school, it seemed fitting to name the revamped building after her.

The school was officially opened on May 7,2012 by the Honourable Ronald Jones, Minister of Education. It was named the Thelma Berry Nursery School.
