The earliest account of this school reveals that the St. Giles' Mixed School was established at My Lord's Hill St. Michael approximately one hundred and fifty years ago. Its pupils were at that time housed in church property and its first Head Teacher was Mr. Straker.

In 1898, in accordance with the Bree Commission, the four schools in the area, under the jurisdiction of the Priest-in-Charge of the St. Barnabas Anglican Church were re-organized and the boys were separated from the girls. Thus the St. Giles' Boys' School and the St. Giles Girls' School were formed under the guidance of Mr. F. H. Adams

In 1984, the St. Giles' Boys' School and the St. Giles Girls' School were amalgamated to form the St. Giles' Primary School. The first Principal was Mr. Arthur E. Parris.

Today St. Giles' Primary is a vibrant and outstanding coeducational institution, which continues to make an invaluable contribution to the education of pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 plus.

School Song

To St. Giles' we come from day to day;
Here we work to shape our lives
To ensure our hopes and destiny
So that life we may enjoy.
So let's strive to rise beyond the skies
To achieve the best we can.

Time is passing like a fleeting wind;
Our school days will soon be o'er
If we squander time in useless deeds
No late tears will compensate.
So let's toil and not procrastinate
For time lost we can ne'er recall.

So let's pledge to strive for excellence;
To aid ourselves and our fellowman
And march on with a sense of dignity
And aspire new heights each day.
That when we leave this school we love so dear
Our memories will bring us joy.
Our memories will bring us joy.
Our memories will bring us joy.
