The earliest records show that in accordance with the recommendations of Free Education Commissions (1894-1986) the St. George Boys' and St. George Girls' School were established.
The original Girls' School was replaced in 1917 on land which formerly belonged to Valley Plantation.
In September 1982 the pupils from the St. George Boys' and St. George Girls' were amalgamated to form the St. George Primary School, which is situated at Walkers, St. George. The Honourable Billie Miller officially opened this school, a World Bank school, on 22nd October, 1982. The then parliamentary representative Mr. Jack Odle unveiled a plaque and trees were planted by the Honourable Louis Tull, Mr. Wheeler from USAID and Mr. Hugh Edghill, the former Head Teacher of the Boys' School.

My school is in a scenic parish,
Located most centrally
With rolling hills and valleys green
That's where we love to be.
Chorus
We live to strive and strive to live
In perfect harmony
Both boy and girl, Head, Staff and all
Education is the key.
We occupy a beautiful sight,
Social services surround
Education, Health and Religion
And a haven for tourist is found.
St. George Primary School we do cherish
And strive for perfection each day
With a set of goals and standards
Which we aim to achieve always.
However with all our efforts
They'll be to no avail
Without the Lord's help and Guidance
All perseverance fails.
God bless our school we pray each day
God bless our parish too
God bless all those who come our way
God bless what e're we do..
