The structure which currently houses the St. Bartholomew Primary School was officially opened for public school education in the year 1969 and is located at Parish Land, Christ Church. It is approximately 1.5 km from Grantley Adams International Airport and 2 km from Oistins.
At that time, the student body was a composition of males from Providence Boys School and the St. Bartholomew Boys School formerly located at Providence, Christ Church and Pilgrim Road, Christ Church respectively.
In September 1995, the name St. Bartholomew Primary School replaced the name St. Bartholomew Boys School when the females from St. Bartholomew Girls School were officially amalgamated with the males. The Principal, then, was Mrs. Norma Wiltshire.
Since the early days, the school has developed a rich history with a cadre of Principals, staff and students who have worked assiduously to ensure that the name St. Bartholomew Primary remained prominent in the immediate community and country. Included among the Principals who were appointed to head the school in the most recent past were Ms. Merline PAdmore and Mr. Keith Ward. Mrs. Colleen Philips succeeded Mr. Ward and acted in the capacity of Principal for two years until the appointment of the current Principal Mrs. Hyacinth Harris.

The Mission of the St. Bartholomew Primary School is to provide an educational environment for all the students to attain the skills and knowledge necessary for full participation in our global society as responsible, self directed and civic-minded citizens.
As each day brings forth challenges anew
That we all have to learn to face
With the help of God and our teachers too
We will conquer them day by day.
Chorus
So rise St. Bartholomew Primary
And show everyone we believe
That together we aspire
And together we achieve.
Building friendships strong as we work and play
And as we learn for future years
We will proudly lift the name of the school up high
Through joy, happiness sorrow and our fears.
