Hillaby / Turner’s Hall Primary School is an amalgamation of Hillaby Mixed School and Turner’s Hall Primary School. The Hillaby / Turner’s Hall Primary is located at Farmers, St. Thomas. The amalgamation of the schools became official on June 30th 1993 with the opening by the Minister of Education, the Hon. Cyril V. Walker J.P. Pupils occupied the school about three weeks earlier. In September 1995, after the closure of the St. Thomas Mixed School about thirty (30) pupils were added to the school.

Mission Statement

1. To ensure good quality, student-centred instruction for all pupils so that each child reaches his/her maximum potential.

2. To provide opportunities for each child to specialise in his/her particular area to produce intellectually sound, well-balanced, industrious, creative and critical-thinking pupils.

3. To engender in our pupils discipline, respect for self and others, a team spirit and community spirit with a desire for self-improvement.

4. Work with the home, community and other organizations to produce the type of child to make this institution proud.

There are ten (10) Heads of Departments and six (6) Year Heads with responsibilities for Form Levels 1-6.

STUDENTS

There are five forms at year levels 1 to 5. Each year level is managed by a Senior Teacher.

SPORTS

Various sports including athletics, badminton, cricket, football, hockey, netball and volleyball.
