School Crest

The new crest was designed in 2022 by a team of teachers led by teacher Mrs. Kerrie Robinson.

The two students at the top are showing off their star that they received for their work that was well done.

The book is a symbol used for learning and knowledge, so they are standing on the open book which signifies that knowledge is freely shared with them at our school. 

The six (6) persons at the bottom represent 1. Parents, 2. Fellow Students, 3. Teachers,        4. Ancillary Staff, 5. Churches, 6. Community. These six (6) groups all support the students and our school at large. They also commend the students for the work that has been well done.

School History

The Grazettes Primary School was officially opened by Mr. Erskine Sandiford, Minister of Education, on the September7, 1970, under the leadership of Miss Marjorie Riley.

At that time the student roll was two hundred and twenty-four. Five years later, the roll increased to six hundred and thirty-seven. Rev. Rudolph Holder was appointed the first Chairman of Managers in 1979.

The school, a gift from the British government, was built to relieve the overcrowding at Edghill Memorial Girls’ School.

The school’s crest with the motto: “Pride in Work Well Done” was painted and presented to the school by Mr. Fielding Babb, a parent. Later in 2022, a team of teachers, inclusive of past students, led by teacher Mrs. Kerrie Robinson, enhanced the crest to its current depiction.

The school was refurbished in 2002, during the Education Sector Enhancement Programme (ESEP), Phase 2. A computer laboratory and Management Information Systems (MIS) room were erected and later furnished with technological equipment.

Over the years the school has made great academic accomplishments along with students achieving national awards in sports, literary arts and culture.
