The Gordon Greenidge Primary School was officially opened on July 8th 1993 by the then Minister of Education, Mr. Cyril Walker. The school was built to facilitate the amalgamation of the St. Boniface Primary School and the Black Bess Primary School.
Named after the world famous Barbadian and West Indian cricketer, Cuthbert Gordon Greenidge, the school and caters to the educational needs of the children from the surrounding Sion Hill, Carlton, Rock Dundo, Bakers, Black Bess, Mangrove and Rock Hall.
The first Principal of the school was Mrs. Lorna Williams, who was the Principal of the Black Bess Primary School at the time of the amalgamation. Sing up, O' Gordon Greenidge
Go tell it all abroad.
We have a wondrous priv'lege
To travel the success road.
Chorus
Truth and excellence cannot fail,
Great seas of learning shall we sail,
We'll aim for the sky, we'll do our best;
Through knowledge we will reap success.
God bless our school with wisdom,
God bless our teachers too,
Uplift this institution
With hard work and labour true.
I'll practice deeds of kindness,
Respect my comrades too.
Forever true and honest,
A child of good repute.
Strength, honour, fame, my people,
From God we will accept.
We will be true and faithful,
We'll remain self-respect.
