The Elliot Belgrave Primary School was originally Boscobel Boys' School. It was started on January 11th, 1892 and like most other school in Barbados was affiliated to the nearby St. Philip-The-Less Anglican Church.
In 1992 it celebrated its centenary. A commerative plaque was unveiled by the then Minister of Education The Honorable Cyril Walker M.P. The plaque can be seen on the ground floor of the main building.
That same year, because of falling enrollment it was amalgamated with Boscobel Girls' School under the name of Boscobel Primary School. The building vacated by the girls became the Edna Nicholls Center which caters to secondary students with special problems.
On January 11th, 2017 the school celebrated its 125th anniversary. Soon after that milestone was reached the Minister of Education at the time, The Honourable Ronald Jones, staff and community agreed that the name be changed in order to celebrate the life and work of the school's most notable son, His Excellency, Sir Elliot Belgrave.

Father bless our school life,
Make us kind and good;
Helpful, glad and willing,
Doing what we should.
We remember Jesus,
When He was a lad,
Did His daily duty,
Making others glad.
Loving helpful pupils,
Pure and kind and true.
Faltering, flinching never,
Courage ever new.
Working here for Jesus,
Every way we can;
Be a child of Jesus
And a friend to man.
We would now be like Him
In our school today;
Showing in His manner,
Pride in Work Well Done.
Keep us ever faithful,
Gentle, pure and true.
Making glad our teachers
And our own hearts too.
