The Blackman and Gollop Primary School was officially opened on 28th September 2011 as the amalgamated institution for the former South District and St. David's Primary schools. It is co-educational, and caters to students from four years to eleven plus. It offers a full complement of academic subjects, as well as a wide variety of Extra-curricular activities.
The school is known nationally for its academic, sporting and musical successes. It hosts annually a highly competitive Calypso Competition, and in the 2019 NIFCA competition, received Gold, and the Jackie Opel Award for its original entry 'Bite By A Centipede', which was also named as the most recent Folk Song. This song was written and arranged by teachers- Mr. Dwane Francis and Ms. Cassandra Greenidge respectively. The principals assigned to Blackman and Gollop Primary were Ms. Joslyn Brewster (2011-2015), Mrs. Olwyn Walker 2015-2016, and Ms. Petrona Holder (2016- present).
