In 1952, the St Leonard's Boys' School was relocated from its original site on Baxters' Road to its present location. The move facilitated its use as the pilot school in that historic experiment which sought to extend education beyond secondary school.
The school drew students from such primary schools as Wesley Hall Boys, St Mary's Boys', Roebuck Boys', Westbury and the St Stephen's Boys'. The school changed its status from an all-aged elementary school to a non-selective school. This was only the first of several changes through which the school endeavoured to improve the quality of its service to the community.
Fear God, Think Clean, Aim High.
A school of choice, with an inspired staff, motivated students, committed parents and a supportive community working in harmony to build a better Barbados.
To maximize the academic, social and physical potential of each child in a caring and professional atmosphere that engages parental and community support.
Living and learning we are
All gathered here from near and far
Students we are of St Leonard's Boys'
Sharing our hardships and our joys.
We shall in unity just go hand in hand.
Fearing God, Thinking Clean, Aiming High
Helping to build our Nation.
Striving to bring our best,
Each taking up this task with zest.
Grooming ourselves for our future role,
Responsibility our goal.
Let us in harmony just go hand in hand,
Fearing God, Thinking Clean, Aiming High,
Helping to build our Nation.
Men of tomorrow indeed,
Shaping our lives to meet each need.
Choosing a path to apply our gift,
Building on knowledge, skills and thrift
As we in victory, do so hand in hand,
Fearing God, Thinking Clean, Aiming High
Helping to build our Nation.
