The Princess Margaret Secondary School, named after Her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret of Great Britain, was officially opened by her on February 9th, 1955. The memory of that great day lives on in the majestic Pride of India tree which she planted to the south-west of the hall.
This co-educational institution has a roll of 831 students ranging from 11-17 years of age. These students are offered varied educational programmes to cater to their diverse needs. Students of the school have shone in many areas, especially so in Visual Arts, Home Economics, Industrial Arts and Athletics, proving themselves as being true stars of the East.
Our Motto
SUBLIMIORA PETAMUS. This Latin statement when translated means ‘Let us seek higher things’.

The Mission of Princess Margaret Secondary School is to Produce Self-Disciplined Individuals, Equipped with the Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes Necessary For Productive Citizenship.

Female Uniforms
Juniors (Forms 1 - 3)
The dress is made of gold linen or polyester with shirt sleeves as in diagram, shown at the back of this booklet. The sleeves must not come below the elbow. The skirt MUST cover the knees. A brown and gold belt of woven material fastened with hooks and eyes, brown shoes and brown socks and a brown and gold crossed tie complete the junior girls’ uniform.
Seniors (Forms 4 & 5)
Fourth form girls are only permitted to wear crossed ties, while those of the fifth year wear regular long ties. Blouses must be of gold linen or polyester and be made like the juniors' blouses.
Brown skirts are made with the same pleats as juniors and MUST cover the knees. Tabs must be attached to the skirts to accommodate the belt. Brown shoes and brown socks are required. Students MUST wear only ONE PAIR of socks at any one time reaching no more than 2 inches above the ankles. Girls are NOT permitted to wear thick woolly socks.
Male Uniforms
Juniors (Forms 1 - 3)
Junior boys wear khaki shirt and shorts, brown belt, brown shoes, khaki socks and epaulettes. These socks MUST be worn above the calves. Garters, when used, must not be visible.
Seniors (Forms 4 & 5)
Senior boys wear long brown pants which touch their shoes and no patch pockets. The material used should not be denim or any similar material. The material should be softer in texture, e.g., gaberdine, polyester, etc. White shirts and ties must be worn by fifth form boys ONLY. All f fourth form boys MUST wear epaulettes, not ties with their white shirts. Brown shoes which must also have brown soles and white or brown socks are required. The belt must be dark-brown and plain. No fancy buckleheads are allowed. Designer belts such as Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton are NOT allowed.
