The Parkinson Memorial School was established by the Government of Barbados in September, 1960 with its first intake coming from the feeder schools in the area.
It was officially opened by The Hon. L. St. A Thorne MCP, Minister of Education, on Wednesday 22nd February, 1961. Students were then allocated on the basis of the Common Entrance Examination.
The school is named after Educator Augustus Rawle Parkinson.

TEACHERS
There are ten (10) Heads of Departments and six (6) Year Heads with responsibilities for Form Levels 1-6.

There are five forms at year levels 1 to 5. Each year level is managed by a Senior Teacher.

Various sports including athletics, badminton, cricket, football, hockey, netball and volleyball.

Gold corded checked short sleeved shirt waistband and tie in school colours, brown socks and plain brown laced leather shoes.
Male Uniforms
1st - 3rd Form
Khaki shirt with epaulettes, short khaki pants; plain black belt, school socks and black plain laced leather shoes.
4th Form
White shirt with epaulettes, long grey pants; plain black belt, grey or black socks and black plain laced leather shoes.
5th Form
White shirt with tie, long grey pants; plain black belt, grey or black socks and black plain laced leather shoes.
